The kids like to hold & pat them, they are super low maintainace, they have fabulous persolalities AND they give you eggs. I like the Australorps as egg layers (they have lovely big eyes & black irradecent feathers), arucannas (cause they look silly & lay green/blue eggs) and peakins because they are SO cute.anthropossumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15931833728496555575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9023402773938771958.post-5717742070305193882011-05-24T09:18:25.974-07:002011-05-24T09:18:25.974-07:00More who than what. I only keep 5 or 6 hens [roosters scare the dickens out of me] they are wonderful. From the moment you get the little fluffballs you will be mesmorized..mine will follow me all over the yard, eat all sorts of insects I hate, dig around your garden to loosten the soil and last but not least there is something VERY good for the soul to go in the coop and gather your freshly laid eggs for breakfast !! I keep them around for about 5 years [they become pets]. My favorites are Silver Laced Wyandottes..so so beautiful and good natured.
Go ahead and try it, you won't be disappointed.Brenda Wattshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05945958456173988332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9023402773938771958.post-19777257872328942012011-05-24T05:27:34.270-07:002011-05-24T05:27:34.270-07:00a friend of mine just got chicks for the first tim...a friend of mine just got chicks for the first time. i will forward this along to her.

http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.comThe Everything Listhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00877293797685042358noreply@blogger.com
