Vintage Mirrors as art
I have always had a thing about unframed vintage mirrors. I love these collages of them! I have a set of 3 just waiting to be hung in the guest room - I am inspired I will have to finally hang them up!

Green design: Reusing Vintage chairs
I was so excited to see that other designers feel the same way that I do. Sometimes you just cannot beat reusing a piece, giving it a new life, and getting something a little bit more unique. While emailing with Doug at Tracery Interiors about a project that they had just completed, which has a wonderful guest suite in all greige, I noticed the chairs in the photos. In this particular home Doug used a few sets of chairs that were reupholstered and refinished in some cases, to create a very unique and inviting look. Please visit their blog for additional information.

Green Design: Reuse containers and crates for potted plants
I just love this outdoor space from a great shop in Copenhagen. A great way to reuse and reduce is to pick up vintage crates, pots and other containers to pot your patio or indoor garden. They work wonderfully for herbs and veggies to keep them close at hand for harvesting.
Stop by the InteriorRevolution this week were we are doing a series of guest posts..

A week in Paris: La Tour Eiffel
I know I know.. it's touristy- it's crowded.. but it is always one of my favorites! If I went to Paris and I did not visit the Eiffel Tower I would somehow feel that I had missed something. I have tried to at least visit the park each time I have been to Paris and each time it is different. We have eaten at the restaurant and loved it, been to the top to watch the sun set at 10:45pm (best ever), and watched the lights come on in the evening. I love the gardens below and on a rainy day it is nice and quite. When we walked up to it and I saw the cherry tree in full bloom I almost died- the lighting was so perfect!
The neighborhood that surrounds it has the most amazing architecture! I would love to live here... maybe someday!
Visit the official site for what is happening right now and to buy tickets... And don't forget there are so many places that you can get a glimpse of the tower all over the city so keep your eyes open..

A week in Paris: Shopping @ Astier de Villatte
Astier de Villatte is always one of my first stops when I arrive in Paris! I discovered this store about 4 years ago and I am totally obsessed! The store front on Rue St. Honore is very non discript and almost hidden like a secret treasure trove. Each piece is made by hand in their factory in Paris. On my last visit we, my cousin and I, were lucky enough to go to the factory and see how each piece is made and dipped by hand - can I say best day ever!
Astier de Villatte also makes furnishings, candles and glassware. The store and the company in general have this amazing feel that I am sure you only get in France, they are new but create an imperfect and vagabond feel with every piece. The details are amazing. It is a must see and take home at least one piece in your suitcase!

A week in Paris: Hotel Terese
I have only been to Paris a handful of times but each time I think I love it more! On my past 2 visits I have stayed at the Hotel Terese, which is on the Right bank in the 1st. Hotel Terese is a converted 18th century townhouse in my favorite neighborhood in Paris. The rooms are clean and comfortable and from what I hear the breakfast is just wonderful (I always opt for a Pain au Chocolat with tea). This little hotel is within walking distance of the Louvre, Rue Saint Honore (favorite shopping), Palais Royal and just a hop skip and a jump onto the Metro.
We typically fly in to Charles de Gaulle-Roissy airport and take the train into the city. It is very inexpensive to take the train in, but for me (who will always always choose the wrong direction if given any choice) it can be a little confusing. I am usually turned around when I come out of the Metro stations and will go the wrong way for sure! After a few days I get used to it and can find my favorite locations easily again. But for that reason I will give no directions here or in any travel post!!
Hotel is a great home base while in Paris! And they only looked at me a little strangely when I kept coming back with bags and bags and bags of purchases that were surely too large to fit in any normal suitcase...
Hotel Terese is well priced (I mean very well priced in my opinion). I like nice hotels and I really like nice boutique hotels and this is on my list! They are also in an area that I feel comfortable in at night. As I often split off from my husband when I get to Paris this is an important factor for me!
