Recycled bed design... the pallet bed frame

I am loving this recycled bed frame made from palletts.  Great for the starving college student who would more than likely toss their furnishings after school anyway.  Fun, simple and totally in style.

Vintage doors and windows

I love love vintage doors.  I cannot wait until someday when I can build my own home and include some vintage architectural elements... but for now I will just dream about it.

Utility still life..

How can someone make a simple stool look so cool??  Even the naked bulb above is great!  I think that the vintage stool with its time worn patina makes such a fun statement.

Vintage trophies display - Green Design

I think that displaying collections in your home is the best way to personalize it and enjoy it!  If you tuck away your collections what fun are they.  Display what makes you happy!  Either in a grouping or spread out they make wonderful accents and conversation pieces.  It is also such a great gift to have vintage items in your home it gives it a feeling of life!

Green design: Vintage and worn books on display

Using vintage books and natural accents is a great way to give a book case some texture and interest. Mixing used and worn books with your regular novels and books adds that decorative element that you sometimes would not get from those books alone. Turn your books with the spines to the back to help them coordinate and you are all set. Come by and check out our distressed books to add to your book collection!

Green design: Reusing Vintage chairs

I was so excited to see that other designers feel the same way that I do. Sometimes you just cannot beat reusing a piece, giving it a new life, and getting something a little bit more unique. While emailing with Doug at Tracery Interiors about a project that they had just completed, which has a wonderful guest suite in all greige, I noticed the chairs in the photos. In this particular home Doug used a few sets of chairs that were reupholstered and refinished in some cases, to create a very unique and inviting look. Green Design: Reuse containers and crates for potted plants

I just love this outdoor space from a great shop in Copenhagen. A great way to reuse and reduce is to pick up vintage crates, pots and other containers to pot your patio or indoor garden. They work wonderfully for herbs and veggies to keep them close at hand for harvesting.
