Sunday Suppers love!

Okay maybe I am spending more time that I should at the computer, but oh my I have discovered an amazing point of inspiration. I always want to entertain in style.. it doesn't always work but I try. Well, I just discovered the best inspiration I have had in a long time - Sunday Suppers! You have to check it out! First of all the pictures are amazing, they have recipes, table design and make me feel like I want to entertain all of the time!

These photos are from a post on table design for a dinner with fresh food from the farmers market. This fits into stylish responsibility on so many levels. The Burlap tablecloths are so perfect, vintage silverware, local food, family and friends- just perfect!

I hope they inspire you too!

Book Plates..

I am such a fan of encouraging our children to read.. they spend so much time watching television and playing video games. I have always loved books and have encouraged my children to love them and to love reading. I ran across these beautiful book plates on Party Perfect and was just thinking what a great baby gift they would be! Check them out from Blonde Designs.
I love love these!!

Plants on the Brain... and Molly Wood Garden Design

I must have plants on the brain today... I just received a great little email with inspiring photos from Molly Wood Garden Design. She is an amazing landscape designer that I met last year when she worked on Project Playhouse-definitely having her work on my home... someday!

She has a fantastic little studio and shop @1660 Orange Avenue Costa Mesa, CA 92627.

I had the pleasure of visiting last year around Christmas and picked up some great wreaths as well as a beautiful succulent box for a gift.

Lately my feelings toward the succulent have changed. I have never been a big fan of the succulent maybe because I expect different things from my garden. I don't want to feel like I live in the desert- you know. But lately I am falling for them-have they become more stylish? Do I like them for their drought tolerant style? Have they been cool all along and I am just crazy? Well, they look great here and are easy care and maintenance! And as you know having plants in your home has many benefits- better air quality and great accents to name a few!

Green for the garden..

Green inspiration at Starbucks... Can you believe it.. After dropping the kids at summer camp I ran into the local Starbucks for some juice and a piece of their super yummy lemon bread (not the best breakfast- but what can you do) and I noticed on my way out that they had a bucket of Grounds for your Garden- I was so excited! This is the first time I have actually seen them in the store. I read about the concept about a year ago and drove around and around looking for a local store that participated... Not too many around my area - so I went to the local Coffee Bean and Tea leaf and just asked if I could have some grounds for my garden- what do you know they gave me a giant trash bag full!!! I have been back several times (getting weird looks every time!) So today this bag of garden gold inspired me to spend a little time outside in the garden before it heated up.

If you have not heard of the program and the concept- it is simple. Used coffee grounds are great for your soil, plants and attract big juicy worms to your garden. When you pick them up at your favorite coffee shop or use them from your morning cup they will be kept out of the local landfill and help to renew and fertilize your garden naturally.

Check out what Starbucks says about it here.

Personally I mix them in with my soil not applying them directly to any one plant. They make the garden smell really great for about a week. What ever I don't use in my garden I put into my worm composter- they love it! So don't be shy ask your local coffee house for a bag and give it a try for yourself! Oh and don't forget to bring your reusable coffee mug- that's good for the Earth too!
